Old Christ Church, Episcopal
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
This church is nationally famous, not only for being the nations first Episcopal parish, but for its illustrious early worshippers, including Benjamin Franklin, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Work for this church consisted of a survey of existing conditions, comprehensive report, and general committee guidance, prior to a major reconsideration of the present 110-rank instrument, which incorporates the work of Aeolian, Aeolian-Skinner and Austin. Special sensitivity to historical concerns is appropriate in this parish, the first Episcopal Church in America. |
