Calvary Episcopal Church
Memphis, Tennessee

This 1935 Aeolian-Skinner organ replaced a 1911 Kimball thoroughly drenched when a tornado tore off the organ chamber roof. A comprehensive three-manual instrument, it was noteworthy for an entirely straight scheme without any extensions, and complete flue and reed choruses on all manuals and pedal. The distinguished organist and pedagogue Adolf Steuterman was the church’s musician for 53 years, from 1919 to 1972.
